Tesla tem tentado manter o atualizado Modelo 3 sob sigilo o melhor que puderam, mas na semana passada, uma imagem vazada do carro com o codinome ‘Projeto Highland’ apareceu online, e as pessoas têm muito a dizer sobre isso.

Alguns sentiram que faltava identidade, enquanto outros acharam que modernizou perfeitamente o sedã compacto para se adequar ao restante da linha de modelos. No entanto, a foto que circulou amplamente online era pouco mais do que apenas o para-choque dianteiro, então o artista digital Sugar Chow assumiu a responsabilidade de renderizar o facelift sobreposto ao carro completo.

No geral, achamos que parece muito bom. Os faróis mais finos com sua nova assinatura DRL fazem um bom trabalho para ajudá-lo a se encaixar no Modelo S atualizado e Modelo X, além de deixar o carro mais elegante e moderno. E como o Model 3 não passou por uma grande reforma desde sua estreia, há 6 anos (alguns carros têm ciclos de vida inteiros tão longos), a modernidade é sempre bem-vinda.

Além disso, a posição dos faróis mais baixos na frente ajuda a reduzir parte da altura visual da frente, levando a uma aparência mais elegante e esportiva em geral. Esse efeito é auxiliado apenas pelas longas linhas horizontais do para-choque e pela entrada inferior, que ajudam a enfatizar a largura do veículo.

Uma coisa que Sugar Chow não renderizou foi algo dentro do carro – o painel. Espectadores com olhos de águia foram capazes de detectar uma ligeira protuberância na frente do volante na imagem original vazada, sugerindo que o Modelo 3 poderia finalmente estar obtendo um conjunto de medidores adequado, ou pelo menos algo semelhante.

O que tesla tem reservado para a traseira do carro ainda é desconhecido, mas esperamos descobrir em breve. Os relatórios indicam que o novo Modelo 3 entrará em produção em setembro com um Modelo Y igualmente atualizado no ano seguinte, então não parece que teremos que esperar muito.

However, the photo that was widely circulated online was little more than just the front bumper, so digital artist Sugar Chow took it upon himself to render the facelift overlayed atop the full car."

All in all, we think it looks really good. The slimmer headlights with their new DRL signature do a good job of helping it fit in with the refreshed Model S and Model X, while also making the car appear sharper and more modern. And seeing as the Model 3 hasn’t gotten a major facelift since its debut 6 years ago (some cars have entire life cycles that long), modernity is always welcome."

Additionally, the headlights’ position lower on the front end helps reduce some of the front end’s visual height, leading to a sleeker, sportier look overall. This effect is only aided by the bumper’s long horizontal character lines and lower intake, which help to emphasize the vehicle’s width."

One thing Sugar Chow didn’t render in is something on the inside of the car — the dashboard. Eagle-eyed viewers were able to spot a slight hump in front of the steering wheel in the original leaked image, suggesting that the Model 3 could finally be getting a proper gauge cluster, or at least something similar."

What Tesla has in store for the rear of the car is still unknown, but hopefully we find out soon. Reports indicate that the new Model 3 will enter production this September with a similarly refreshed Model Y following the year after, so it doesn’t seem like we’ll have to wait long."
