Nos 3,5 anos desde o lançamento do Tesla Cybertruck totalmente elétrico, a fabricante de automóveis atrasou seu lançamento no mercado em várias ocasiões, mas em breve a produção finalmente começará.

Felizmente, vários protótipos não disfarçados foram lançados nos últimos meses e no início desta semana, uma das versões ‘Alpha’ da Tesla do caminhão elétrico foi tirada na fábrica e instalação de teste da montadora em Fremont.

Um punhado de mudanças foram feitas para o Cybertruck para prepará-lo para cair na estrada. As dimensões gerais foram reduzidas e a Tesla fez várias alterações no design exterior. Por exemplo, os faróis dianteiros e a barra de LED frontal foram ajustados e este protótipo, fotografado por um membro do Clube de Proprietários de Cybertruck fórum, pode ser visto com piscas laranja logo acima do para-choque escurecido.

Em outro lugar, você notará imediatamente que o Cybertruck tem um par de espelhos retrovisores triangulares com acabamento em preto, bem como um grande limpador de para-brisa único que fica ao lado do pilar A do lado do motorista.

O membro do fórum também capturou o Cybertruck cruzando a pequena pista de testes de Tesla na Califórnia. O clipe não é particularmente empolgante, já que o Tesla está sendo conduzido com muito cuidado, mas nos fornece um vislumbre de como será seu design não convencional na estrada.

CEO da Tesla Elon Musk anunciou em janeiro que a produção do Cybertruck começará neste verão, mas a produção em volume não começará até 2024.

Muitos detalhes importantes sobre a picape pronta para produção são desconhecidos. É relatado que serão oferecidas três variantes, a primeira das quais com um único motor elétrico e tração traseira, enquanto as outras duas versões terão tração nas quatro rodas. Ainda não sabemos a capacidade da bateria do Cybertruck, mas a variante principal, movida por 3 motores elétricos, pode viajar mais de 500 milhas (805 km) com uma única carga.

A handful of changes have been made to the Cybertruck to prepare it to hit the road. The overall dimensions have been reduced and Tesla has made various alterations to the exterior design. For example, the headlights and front LED light bar has been tweaked and this prototype, snapped by a member of the Cybertruck Owners Club forum, can be seen with orange turn signals just above the blacked-out bumper."

Elsewhere, you’ll immediately notice that the Cybertruck has a pair of triangular-shaped wing mirrors finished in black as well as a large single windshield wiper that rests alongside the driver’s side A-pillar."

The forum member also snapped the Cybertruck cruising around Tesla’s small test track in California. The clip isn’t particularly exciting as the Tesla is being driven very gingerly but it does provide us with a glimpse of what its unconventional design will look like on the road."

Many important details about the production-ready pickup are unknown.  It is reported that three variants will be offered, the first of which has a single electric motor and rear-wheel drive while the other two versions will be all-wheel drive. We don’t yet know the capacity of the Cybertruck’s battery pack but the flagship variant, driven by 3 electric motors, may be able to travel over 500 miles (805 km) on a single charge."
